Cincinnati musician Eugene Marquis, a student of Cincinnati Pops conductor Erich Kunzel at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, was one of scores of visitors who paid tribute to the maestro by signing a book of remembrance outside Music Hall September 3.
There have been so many that the book will be made available for another day (September 5) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  It will be located on a table at the top of the stairs outside Music Hall next to the box office.
Kunzel died September 2 in Maine after a four-month battle with cancer.
The Pops has set 7 p.m. October 19 as the date for a memorial concert for Kunzel.  Admission will be free, but tickets will be required.  Further details will be announced next week.
All Cincinnati Pops concerts Kunzel was to have conducted during the 2009-10 season will go on as scheduled, Cincinnati Symphony officials said.  The Pops opener Sept. 11-13, a John Williams Spectacular with guest Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), will be led by Jack Everly, principal pops conductor for the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphonies.  For tickets, $20-$93, call (513) 381-3300, or visit the Pops web site at www.cincinnatipops.org
For information, an Erich Kunzel photo gallery and statements from the CSO, visit the Erich Kunzel Tribute Website at www.cincinnatipops.org where you may also leave remembrances.  As of Friday evening September 4, there had been 368 online comments.
