Chamber Opera Presents Pergolesi
Interested in a unique opera held in a church venue?
Take advantage of Cincinnati Chamber Opera’s production of La Serva Padrona and Stabat Mater, a double bill written by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, an 18th century composer. Both works will be presented on February 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park.
Currie Virtosic in Percussion Concerto
Led by guest conductor Cristian Macelaru, it was a program that offered something for everybody: “riSE and fLY,” a concerto for percussion, by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Julia Wolfe; Symphonic Triptych, final work by American master Gunther Schuller, who died in June; and Edward Elgar’s well loved “Enigma Variations.”
CSO Season at the Taft 2016-2017
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra moves to the Taft Theatre during the renovation of Music Hall, set to begin in June, 2016. They will return to Music Hall for the 2017-2018 season.
Brahms and Schumann Share Brahms Fest Opener
Brahms Fest, a two-year focus on the music of Johannes Brahms in Cincinnati, got an opening toast from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Jan. 14. Music director Louis Langrée led Brahms' Symphony No. 1. Guest artist was pianist Kirill Gerstein in the Piano Concerto by Robert Schumann.

A hidden musical treasure, School House Symphony consists of six musicians who play clarinet, bass trombone, cello, flute, French horn and violin, and perform at public schools throughout the Tri‐State.

Music in the Chapel Series: 2015 - 2016 at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer
The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Hyde Park offers a Music in the Chapel concert series every year. The programs are free and open to the public. Music Director L. Brett Scott met with a Music Committee to determine programs for the Music in the Chapel 2015 – 2016 series. The committee decided they wanted a wide variety of music to present to the public and to the parish. Opening program on October 11 was a jazz concert by University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music students.
Cincinnati Pops "Holiday Pops" Conjures Christmas
The Cincinnati Pops annual Christmas show sparkled despite the spring like weather outside, with familiar carols, the traditional "!2 Daze of Cincinnati Christmas" and a concluding sing along.
World Premiere Shares Program with Familiar Favorites
Featured work at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra concert Nov. 19 at Music Hall was "Flex" by Sebastian Currier. Currier's "Flex," a CSO commission, is a six-movement concerto for orchestra manifesting lots of instrumental color.
