June takes off with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra's season finale, "Your Choice!" an audience favorites program selected by audience vote. Mozart's "Don Giovanni" kicks off Cincinnati Opera's 94th season and concerts by the Cincinnati Pops take the stage at Riverbend Music Center on the Ohio River.

The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra
closes its 39th season with a program selected by its audience. During
the season, CCO attendees were given a chance to vote for their favorite
piece from a list compiled by the orchestra musicians, board and staff.
Music director Mischa Santora has included the top two selections, Bernstein's Overture to "Candide" and Mozart's Overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" on this "Choice" concert. Also on the program are Schubert's
Symphony No. 6 ("Little C Major"), "Miniature of a Soul's Journey" by
Markus Stockhausen (b. 1957) and Variations on "The Carnival of Venice"
by Jean-Baptiste Arban. Soloist in the Arban will be CCO principal trumpet Ashley Hall. Making a special appearance with the orchestra will be the MYCincinnati Youth Orchestra, Cincinnati's own "El Sistema," patterned after the famed music education program in Venezuela.

Cincinnati Zoo
Cincinnati Opera performed for its first half-century (1920-1971) at the
Cincinnati Zoo. This concert recalls those days, complete with
appearances by residents of the Zoo (many of whom were likely to add
their voices to those of the singers during Zoo Opera performances). Artists appearing with Cincinnati Opera this season will perform opera and music theater favorites, accompanied by Opera music director/pianist Carol Walker. Cincinnati Opera artistic director Evans Mirageas and Cincinnati Zoo executive director Thayne Maynard will co-host. Admission is free, but reservations are required. A reception with refreshments and cash bar precedes the concert at 6 p.m.

The Constella Festival
teams up with Covington's MainStrasse Village Association and PAR (Professional
Artistic Research) Projects for a fine art exhibition and two nights of jazz
and contemporary classical music. Performances Friday, June 7, and Saturday,
June 8, include Constella Festival musicians in collaboration with Classical
Revolution Cincinnati, featuring violinist Tatiana Berman and clarinetist Laura
Sabo (5:30-7:30 p.m.) and trumpeter Scott Belck and friends (7:30-10 p.m.).
Visual artists exhibiting include Michael Everett, John Leon, Margot Gotoff, Ben Lock and

Vocalists Capathia Jenkins and Darius de Hass replace the originally scheduled Smokey Robinson (who withdrew for health reasons) in a program of Motown hits.

No Mountain High Enough," the Temptations' "My Girl," 1960s hits such as
"Stand By Me" and "Cupid" and songs inspired by Motown and the 60s,
such as "And I Am Telling You" from "Dreamgirls," "Home" from "The Wiz"
and Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." Tickets begin at $15 for adults.

Hear opera favorites including excerpts from "Carmen," "Don Giovanni," "West Side Story ," "Turandot" and "La Traviata," performed by season guests, the Cincinnati Opera Chorus and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra led by CSO associate conductor Robert Trevino.
