December is holiday concerts, early music, “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” “Nutcracker,” carols and lots of Handel's “Messiah.” The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, led by guest conductor Robert Spano, leads off with a program of Vaughan-Williams and Mozart.

The Cincinnati Pops led by conductor John Morris Russell presents the world concert premiere of Macy's "Yes, Virginia," starring Liz Callaway as Miriam, Norm Lewis as Mr. Church and Gracie Alexander as Virginia. Joshua Steele will perform the role of Scraggly Santa, with Aiden Hubbard as Ollie and Claire Northcut as Charlotte.  This will be a semi-staged, fully orchestrated concert version of the musical, which was created by Macy's in 2012 as part of its annual holiday "Believe" campaign.
